Generosity Can Come in all Forms.

The winter of 2023 marked one of the coldest seasons Portland had experienced in years. We partnered with a remarkable group of individuals who helped us in sponsoring money, donated resources, and allocated their time so we could provide meals for the population in downtown Portland experiencing housing/food insecurities.

We made some in-home pancakes, received a few donated carafes of hot coffee, the owner of an incredible thrift store called Shwop that regularly donates clothes to those in need brought along some brand new socks and beanies. Our business partner made cookies and turkey bacon to add to the premade bento boxes, and one other couple gifted us with a sizable box of hand warmers. Supplies in hand, we walked up and down the streets passing out the items as well as guiding people back to the parking lot we made our home base for the morning.

That day, just over 75 people were given a hot meal, coffee, and a few additional items to aid in providing warmth.

Generosity can be given not just by donating money. It can be received also in resources, time, and even a kind word or a smile. How can you show someone generosity today?
